At Amore Bakery, Christmas is one of our favourite times of year and this year we have put together some guides to make your Christmas cupcakes.
You can find our basic cupcake and buttercream recipe here.
Make sure your cupcakes have fully cooled before you decorate them.
You will need
- Buttercream
- Dark Green Food Colouring
- Red Food Colouring
- Rollable Fondant
- Silver Peal beads
- Piping Bags
- Large Star Nozzle
- Edible Silver Glitter
Wreath Cupcakes
- Create a dark green buttercream, by using food colouring in our basic buttercream recipe.
- Pipe a small amount of buttercream on top of the cupcake.
- Roll out white fondant and using a circle cutter with a wavy edge. Choose one that is roughly the size of the cupcake.
- Stick the fondant on to the buttercream on the cupcake.
- Get a piping bag and cut a hole in the bottom. Drop a large start nozzle into the bag and fill with the dark green buttercream.
- Pipe a circle onto the white fondant.
- Use small pearl beads to create baubles on your cupcake.
- Colour some of your white fondant with red food colouring to create red fondant.
- Roll small balls and add them as jewels.
- Cut a strip of red fondant and fold both ends to the middle, to start your bow.
- Cut a slightly smaller strip and wrap it around the centre of the bow, so the ends meet at the back, cut it slightly if you need to.
- Add to the top of the wreath.
- Enjoy your cupcake.
Candy Cane Cupcakes
- Spread plain buttercream onto your Christmas cupcakes, right to the edges.
- Sprinkle silver, edible glitter onto the buttercream to make it look like snow.
- Get white fondant and red fondant and take an even small ball of each.
- Take the two balls and roll them into sausages of equal width. Make them quite thin; otherwise, you will have very chunky candy canes.
- Take the two sausages and wrap them together, so they alternate in colour.
- Give them a gentle roll to get rid of any edges.
- Bend one end over to form your candy cane.
- Create another one and place on the buttercream cupcake.
- Eat your cupcake.
